B.O.D. business meeting was called to order by Arthur Luttig at 9:00 AM. Executive Board members present were Aaron Young, Matt Singer, Bob Weiland, Mike Pfanku, Arthur Luttig, Ron Jervis and Odell Anderson. Absent Russ Moody. Other members present, John Nielsen and Dale Parker.

Aaron Young distributed the agenda, attached.

Treasurer's report given by Ron Jervis.

Election results were covered and new members were introduced and welcomed.

Election of New Board Members took place:

President – Ron Jervis was nominated. No other nominations. Unanimous election of Ron Jervis.

Ron Jervis is elected as President.

Vice President – Odell Anderson was nominated. No other nominations. Unanimous election of Odell Anderson.

Odell Anderson is elected Vice President.

Treasurer – Russ Moody was nominated. Ron Jervis accepted on his behalf. No other nominations. Unanimous election of Russ Moody.

Russ Moody is re-elected Treasurer.

Secretary – Aaron Young was nominated. No other nominations. Unanimous election of Aaron Young.

Aaron Young is re-elected Secretary on the condition he will have help form Matt Singer and the Committees.

E-mail and Communication:

Everyone's email and up to date address was collected.
Discussion on table to send letter(email) to get annual dues to Russ Moody. This is a follow up to the letter everyone just got from Nationals. Weiland motioned to not send letter due to the confusion it may cause. Aaron Second. Passed.

Motion to pick this up in the fall and work on with the national board in the meantime. Motioned, second and passed.

Discussion of lifetime members and state collection of dues from them. It was believed to be that state dues had been rescinded and only contributions expected. National still sends membership renewal letter showing to pay $5.
Motion to affirm that lifetime membership is voluntary on $5 state dues. Second. Passed.

Renewal and Establishment of Committees:

Chapter Revenues: Bring in some extra income to the chapter. Russ Moody Chair.

Marketing Tree Farm Products: Coming up with draft outline of committee goals for next board meeting. Mike Pfanku Chair.

Web Site: Ron Jervis Chair. Other members – Bob Weiland.

Membership: Dale Parker Chair. Other members Ron Jervis. Membership report was reviewed and discussed to increase membership. Committee will come back with recommendations at next board meeting.

Fall Field Day: Aaron Young Chair. Other members Rudy Nigl. Date of September 19th and 20th set for Mosley farm in Appleton.

Spring Field Day: Mike Pfanku Chair. Other members Arthur Luttig and Odell Anderson. Date set for May 17th for abbey that makes walnut caskets and a walnut sawmill in Iowa.

Public Relations and Exhibitions: John Nielsen Chair, Other members Arthur Luttig. John will look for additional member help.

Genetic Improvements for Trees and Nuts: Odell Anderson Chair. Greg Edge Co-Chair. Other Members Troy Stellrecht and Bob Weiner.

Revision of Charter:

Weiland motion to make a committee out of this and board shall also comment on bylaws and objectives. Take up at next board meeting. Second and passed. Weiland and Jervis to Chair.

WWOA Meeting:

Matt Singer to coordinate mailing and stuffing of brochure. Includes a cover page to draw attention to Walnut meeting at 8 AM. Motion to pay for table exhibit at WWOA meeting February 22, 2003. Second. Passed.
